  Colin Tascione
Downingtown High School West - Class of 2011

Colin began his sports career in the year 2000 at the age of 7. He joined the Marsh Creek Eagles where he played for 3 years. The league added a weight limit in 2003 which prevented Colin from participating. 2 years later, he was bigger, faster, stronger and ready to crush the opposition as he entered Downingtown Middle school. He started on both sides of the ball in 7th, 8th and 9th grade. He gained valuable skills as a Center, Offensive Tackle, Nose Guard and Defensive Tackle which paid off as he continued his career on Varsity as a Sophomore and Junior. Colin played in all of the Varsity and Junior Varsity games this year and last.
In 7th grade, Colin joined the wrestling team as a means of conditioning himself for football. He found that he loved the sport and earned a spot on the Middle School's varsity squad in both 7th and 8th grade. He started High School at Downingtown West in 2007 where he again earned a Varsity spot on the wrestling team in his Freshman year. In his Sophomore and Junior years, Colin continued as the Varsity's Heavyweight and went on to compete in Districts each year. He was awarded All Area Wrestling team honorable mention this year.
Colin joined the Downingtown Rugby Football club in 2006.He has played as an A-side prop for the past four years and thoroughly enjoys the aggressiveness and fast pace of the sport. The Dingoes won the Brandywine Championship in 2008 & 2009. This year, they became the first ever Pennsylvania State Champions. They also won the EPRU Championship and the MARFU Championship which earned them a trip to UTAH and a chance to compete at the National level.
